Matrixyl 3000 is a Sederma trade name for a system built on two palmitoylated peptides: Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. This is the most common point of confusion we field on it — buyers frequently expect to order a single INCI, and instead need both actives specified.
It sits in the same matrikine and collagen-support space as Matrixyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4), and is generally positioned a tier above it in finished-product marketing.

Worth knowing
The GHK connection
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 contains the same GHK tripeptide — glycyl-histidyl-lysine — found in GHK-Cu. The difference is what has been done to it. In GHK-Cu the tripeptide is complexed with copper(II); in Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 it carries a palmitic acid chain instead.
That distinction has practical consequences for your formulation. The copper complex is water soluble and deep blue, and it carries pH and acid-compatibility constraints. The palmitoylated version is lipophilic and colourless, with no copper chemistry to manage. They are not interchangeable, and they are frequently confused — including on ingredient lists.
Some brands formulate both, in separate products, precisely because the delivery characteristics differ.

- ● Colourless. No tinting, unlike copper peptides — useful for clear or white bases.
